My business partner and I started our business ten years ago and for the first eight we rarely disagreed. The business grew consistently. We had severe challenges during COVID which we negotiated successfully, but since then I kept feeling resentful about what I felt was my partner taking over parts of the business that I had been doing. It felt as if I was being pushed out of my own company. I shared this with my wife. She was dismissive and said I was just being paranoid. I got mad because I wanted her to support me and agree that I had a right to be angry. Things got worse between us and eventually she said she was going to stay with her mother for a while. Her mother was recovering from an operation but I didn’t think she needed 24 hour care from my wife. My world was imploding. Within a month I couldn’t sleep. I just lay on the couch and watched TV in the evenings until a few hours after midnight. I dozed for a while until it was time to shower and put on an ‘I’m fine’ face and go to work. My partner told me I should take a few weeks off and relax. “Well he would do, wouldn’t he? He wants me out of here permanently! I wonder what changes he will make while I’m away. Will it include the locks?” So I said “I’m fine”. I signed up for a summit on burnout with Dr. Andre as a speaker. When he went through his own experiences of burnout there were too many similarities to ignore so I ended up signing up for his Banish Burnout program. It was in the beta stage but it was amazing. The first crucial milestone was that I began to recognize how serious my burnout was. With my wife gone my meals started to come out of cans. It’s not that I can’t cook, I can. I just couldn’t be bothered. One thing that suddenly scared me was a taking out the recycling and seeing the bin full of chip packets, cans and candy wrappers. Just three weeks later after following the Banish Burnout program, the ability to sleep had returned. That in itself was an amazing relief. It also meant I could get up refreshed enough to go for an early morning walk, a routine I always used to have but that got buried by my burnout. By the end of the program, I was well on the way to repairing my relationships with my partner and others at work. Suddenly I had clarity regarding the future, and when my wife sent me a text with flight details for her return home, joy returned. Now, several months mater, I don’t just feel as I did before burnout, I feel stronger and more resilient than I ever remember feeling. This has been a powerful experience.

Dr. Andre was my business startup coach several years ago and last year I got back in touch with him (as I do from time to time if I want another set of eyes on a business decision). I had become so depressed and demotivated with my business and my life in general, I was seriously contemplating just locking the front door and closing my business. I thought he could help me winding up my company in the cleanest way. Andre said "Promise me you won't do that before we have a session together?" So, a couple of days later we had a coaching session. My burnout was extreme, but it had crept up on me so I really didn't see it happening. Andre worked with me on my relationships with my wife and family and those I work with and on re-activating the physical exercise that had got onto the back burner. Just in the first week I could recognize that I was feeling more positive. After the first month I realized that I could still work on running my business even though I still felt that in the longer term I needed a change. Three months after we had begun Andre’s Banish Burnout program I realized I hadn’t felt so energized and positive for many years. I still recognized that I wanted a change (I had been building my business for most of my adult life by this time) but I still looked forward to the challenges of the day. Now, nearly a year later I have sold by business for 7-figures and I am about to close on a new home and I am bubbling over with ideas about what I want to do next. It really is hard for me to believe the depths to which I had sunk and how incredible it was to be helped out of that so quickly. Thank you Andre.
